Your 10-Day Uganda Gorilla and Wildlife Safari begins with pickup from Entebbe or Kampala. Meet your professional safari guide and begin the journey north towards Murchison Falls National Park. The drive takes you through Uganda's countryside, passing local communities, farms, trading centres and changing landscapes. Depending on your departure time, you can stop for lunch along the way.

Travelers interested in seeing rhinos can add a visit to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary to the itinerary. The sanctuary provides an opportunity to see rhinos on foot with trained guides before continuing towards Murchison Falls. This is an optional activity because the main safari route focuses on reaching Murchison Falls in time for your wildlife experience. Continue towards the park and check into your lodge.

Wake up early for breakfast before heading out for your morning game drive. The early hours are an excellent time to explore the savannah because many animals are active before the temperatures rise. Your guide will take you along the park's wildlife tracks while searching for elephants, buffaloes, giraffes, Uganda kob, hartebeest, warthogs and other wildlife. You may also have opportunities to see lions, while leopards are present but more difficult to encounter.

After lunch, enjoy a boat cruise along the Victoria Nile towards the base of Murchison Falls. The river provides a different perspective of the park and offers opportunities to see hippos, crocodiles, elephants near the water and numerous waterbirds. The boat trip ends near the dramatic base of the falls. Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

After breakfast, leave Murchison Falls and begin the journey south towards Kibale National Park. The route takes you through rural Uganda and towards the lush landscapes of western Uganda. Kibale is widely known for its primate experiences and is one of the major destinations for chimpanzee tracking in Uganda. Arrive at your lodge and relax. If time allows, you can take a short nature walk or explore the local surroundings.

Today is dedicated to one of Uganda's most exciting primate experiences: chimpanzee tracking in Kibale National Park. After breakfast, proceed to the park headquarters for briefing before entering the forest with trained trackers and guides. The forest is home to chimpanzees and other primates, and the tracking experience takes you through beautiful tropical vegetation. You may also encounter monkeys, birds, butterflies and other forest species. Chimpanzee sightings are not guaranteed, because the animals move freely through the forest, but trackers use their knowledge of the forest and recent movements to help locate them. After the activity, return to your lodge for lunch and relaxation.

If you prefer an additional activity, you can visit Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary for a guided community nature walk. The wetland is known for birdlife, primates, vegetation and community-based tourism.

After breakfast, depart Kibale and continue towards Queen Elizabeth National Park. The journey offers scenic views of western Uganda's countryside and the Rwenzori Mountains may be visible on a clear day. After arriving in the Queen Elizabeth area, check into your lodge. Depending on arrival time, you can enjoy an afternoon game drive. The park is home to elephants, buffaloes, Uganda kob, waterbucks, warthogs, hippos and numerous bird species.

Wake up early for a morning game drive through Queen Elizabeth National Park. Your guide will explore areas where wildlife is commonly encountered while searching for elephants, buffaloes, lions, Uganda kob, warthogs and other animals. The park's diverse habitats support a wide range of wildlife.

After lunch, head to the Kazinga Channel for a boat cruise. The channel connects Lake Edward and Lake George and is known for its concentration of hippos and crocodiles. You may also see elephants and buffaloes near the shoreline, together with many species of waterbirds. Return to your lodge after the cruise.

After breakfast, travel towards Bwindi through the southern part of Queen Elizabeth National Park. If road and wildlife conditions allow, your itinerary can include the Ishasha sector, famous for its tree-climbing lions. The sector also provides opportunities to see elephants, buffaloes, topi and other wildlife. Continue towards Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. As you approach the forest, the landscape changes dramatically from savannah to steep hills covered in dense vegetation. Check into your lodge and prepare for the following day's gorilla trekking adventure.

Today is the highlight of your 10-Day Uganda Gorilla and Wildlife Safari. After an early breakfast, travel to the relevant Bwindi trekking sector for briefing. Your ranger guide will explain the gorilla trekking rules and what to expect inside the forest. You will then begin walking through Bwindi's ancient rainforest in search of a habituated mountain gorilla family. The trek can take several hours depending on where the gorillas are located.

Once you find the family, you will spend the permitted viewing time observing them, photographing them and learning about their behavior from the ranger guides. The experience can involve steep slopes, muddy trails and changing weather, so good hiking shoes and appropriate clothing are important. After the trek, return to your lodge to rest.

After breakfast, leave Bwindi and travel towards Lake Bunyonyi. The journey takes you through the beautiful highlands of southwestern Uganda. Lake Bunyonyi is surrounded by terraced hills and numerous small islands. After arrival, check into your lodge and enjoy a relaxed afternoon overlooking the lake. You can add a canoe trip or boat experience to explore parts of the lake, or simply relax at the lodge after your gorilla trekking experience.

Enjoy breakfast before beginning your final journey towards Entebbe. The drive takes you through Uganda's scenic countryside and provides another opportunity to experience rural landscapes. Depending on your route and flight departure time, you can stop at the Uganda Equator for photographs, souvenir shopping and a short educational experience. Continue towards Entebbe. Your guide will drop you at Entebbe International Airport or your preferred accommodation, marking the end of your 10-Day Uganda Gorilla and Wildlife Safari.
