Welcome to the ultimate primate adventure with Tarec Gorilla Safaris. We specialize in crafting deeply personal, once‑in‑a‑lifetime encounters with the world’s most majestic creatures. This 3‑day expedition takes you into the heart of the ancient Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, a UNESCO World Heritage site and home to half of the world's remaining mountain gorillas.

Prepare to be humbled by the gentle gaze of a silverback and captivated by the emerald beauty of Uganda’s rolling highlands.

Day 1: The Journey to the Mist

Your adventure begins with a scenic drive from Kampala or Entebbe. As we head southwest, we’ll make a classic stop at the Equator for photos and a water experiment demonstration. After a delicious lunch in Mbarara, the landscape transforms into the “Switzerland of Africa”: lush, terraced hills and mist‑covered valleys. We arrive at your lodge on the edge of Bwindi in the evening for dinner and the sounds of the forest.
Stay: Luxury, mid‑range, or budget lodge (customized to your preference).

Day 2: The Ultimate Gorilla Trek

Today is the day! After an early breakfast and a briefing at the park headquarters, you will be assigned to a gorilla family. Led by expert Uganda Wildlife Authority (UWA) rangers, you’ll head into the thick jungle. The trek can take anywhere from 2 to 6 hours, but the moment you lock eyes with a mountain gorilla, the effort vanishes. You will spend one unforgettable hour observing them play, groom, and feed.
Afternoon Option: A community walk to visit the Batwa Pygmies, the original “Keepers of the Forest.”

Day 3: Scenic Return & Farewell

Enjoy a final African breakfast while watching the mist rise off the canopy. We begin our journey back, winding through the tea plantations and rolling hills. We’ll stop for a relaxed lunch and a visit to the Mpambire Drum Makers to pick up some local crafts before dropping you at your hotel or Entebbe Airport for your flight home.
