A comfortable family adventure to Murchison Falls — rhino tracking at Ziwa, game drives, a Nile boat cruise, and the spectacular Top of the Falls, all at a relaxed family pace.

Make your family holiday in Uganda an unforgettable adventure. This 4-Day Uganda Family Safari combines rhino tracking at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, wildlife game drives, a Nile boat cruise and the spectacular Murchison Falls in one comfortable private itinerary — designed for families with a relaxed pace and only one accommodation base across all three nights.
A Uganda family safari offers a combination of wildlife, nature, conservation and cultural experiences that can be enjoyed at a comfortable pace. This 4-day itinerary is particularly suitable for families who do not have a lot of time but still want to experience Uganda's wildlife.
The route also avoids unnecessary hotel changes. Your family spends three nights in the Murchison Falls area while enjoying different activities during the day — game drives, a Nile boat cruise, rhino tracking, and the Top of the Falls viewpoint.
| Destination | Recommended Lodge | Level |
|---|---|---|
| Murchison Falls | Pakuba Safari Lodge | Mid-range |
| Murchison Falls (Alt.) | Murchison River Lodge | Mid-range |
Both properties sit in the Murchison Falls area and allow your family to stay in the same lodge for all three nights — no repeated packing and unpacking. Accommodation remains subject to availability, and a comparable lodge can be substituted if the preferred property is fully booked. Families should confirm available room configuration and child policy before confirming the booking.

From Entebbe/Kampala to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary and Murchison Falls, then back. Follow the day-by-day timeline below.
Your 4-Day Uganda Family Safari begins with an early morning pickup from your hotel in Entebbe or Kampala. Meet your professional safari guide and begin the journey north toward Murchison Falls National Park.
The first major stop is Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, where your family will enjoy a guided rhino tracking experience. Walking through the sanctuary with an experienced ranger gives both adults and children an opportunity to learn about rhino conservation and see southern white rhinos in a natural setting. After lunch, continue toward Murchison Falls National Park. Arrive at your lodge in the evening, check in and relax.

Wake up early and prepare for your first major wildlife experience. Enjoy a morning game drive through Murchison Falls National Park. The park supports a variety of wildlife, including elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, Uganda kob, hartebeest and other antelope species. Your guide will select a suitable route based on wildlife movements, road conditions and your family's interests.
Return to the lodge for lunch and some downtime. In the afternoon, take a boat cruise along the Victoria Nile toward the base of Murchison Falls. The boat trip is an excellent family activity because it allows everyone to enjoy wildlife without the physical demands of a long walking excursion. Along the river, you may see hippos, crocodiles, elephants and numerous water birds. Return to the lodge in the evening.

After breakfast, enjoy another game drive through the park. This provides another opportunity to look for wildlife and gives children a chance to experience the excitement of an African safari. After the game drive, visit the Top of Murchison Falls. Here, the Victoria Nile is forced through a narrow gorge before plunging dramatically through the falls. The viewpoint provides excellent photography opportunities and is one of the most memorable scenery stops in the park.
Return to the lodge for lunch and spend the afternoon relaxing. Families can use the free time to enjoy the lodge surroundings or simply rest after the day's activities.

Enjoy breakfast at the lodge before beginning your journey back to Entebbe or Kampala. The return journey provides another opportunity to see Uganda's countryside, villages, farms and local communities. Stop for lunch along the way.
Depending on your flight schedule, your guide can transfer you directly to Entebbe International Airport or to your hotel in Kampala or Entebbe. This marks the end of your 4-Day Uganda Family Safari.

Pricing for this 4-Day Uganda Family Safari depends on the number and ages of children, room configuration, accommodation level, travel dates and vehicle requirements. Your personalized family quotation will clearly show the accommodation, activities and transport included.
| Group Configuration | Suggested Total Price |
|---|---|
| Single Traveler | From US$1,650 |
| 2 Adults | From US$2,500 total |
| 2 Adults + 1 Child | From US$3,200 total |
| 2 Adults + 2 Children | From US$4,400 total |
| Family of 4 (mid-range realistic) | US$4,400–US$4,900 total |
Important: For children, we use age-based pricing rather than a single flat child price, because accommodation and park/activity charges can differ according to age. The exact family quotation should depend on the children's ages, room configuration, accommodation level, travel dates and vehicle requirements. Prices are starting estimates and should be confirmed against current accommodation, park and activity fees before booking.
Many lodges, park activities and boat cruises charge different rates for children depending on their age band (e.g. under 5, 5–12, 13–17). Rather than publishing one flat child price that would be misleading, we provide a per-family quotation after confirming the children's ages. Please include the ages of all children when requesting a quotation.
