Uganda's largest national park — game drives across the savannah, a Victoria Nile boat cruise, the top of Murchison Falls, and abundant wildlife.

The 3-Day Murchison Falls Wildlife Safari is a private Uganda safari designed for travelers who want to experience wildlife, the Victoria Nile and the spectacular Murchison Falls in a short but rewarding itinerary. Murchison Falls National Park is one of Uganda's major wildlife destinations and offers opportunities to see elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, Uganda kobs, hippos, crocodiles and a wide range of bird species. The park is also famous for the dramatic point where the Nile is forced through a narrow gorge before continuing downstream.

From Kampala or Entebbe to Murchison Falls National Park and back — this journey unfolds day by day. Follow the timeline below.
Your Tarec Gorilla Safaris driver-guide will pick you up from your hotel, residence or agreed meeting point in Kampala or Entebbe. After a short safari briefing, you will begin your journey north-west towards Murchison Falls National Park. The journey takes you through Uganda's countryside, passing rural communities, farms, trading centres and changing landscapes. Depending on your departure time and road conditions, you can stop for lunch along the way.
Travelers who want to add a rhino experience can include a stop at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary on the way to Murchison Falls. The sanctuary provides an opportunity to see southern white rhinos on foot with a trained guide. This is an optional activity and changes the day's schedule and overall safari price.
After the optional rhino experience, continue towards Murchison Falls National Park. Depending on the selected accommodation, you will check in at your lodge either inside the park or close to the park. Relax at the lodge before dinner.

Wake up early and enjoy breakfast before heading into Murchison Falls National Park for your first major game drive. Early morning is an excellent time to explore the savannah because many animals are active before temperatures become hotter. Your guide will drive through the park while looking for wildlife. Possible sightings include elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, Uganda kobs, waterbucks, warthogs, Jackson's hartebeests, lions, leopards, and hyenas. Wildlife sightings cannot be guaranteed because animals move freely through the park.
The game drive will take you across the park's wildlife-rich northern sector or other suitable areas depending on current road conditions and wildlife movements. Your experienced driver-guide will help identify animals and explain their behaviour and habitat. After the game drive, return to your lodge for lunch and some relaxation.
Later in the afternoon, head to the Victoria Nile for your boat cruise towards the base of Murchison Falls. Along the riverbanks, you may see hippos, Nile crocodiles, elephants, buffaloes, waterbucks, antelopes, African fish eagles, kingfishers and other water birds. The boat continues towards the base of the falls, where the Victoria Nile is forced through a narrow gorge. The sight and sound of the water rushing through the gorge provide one of the most memorable experiences of the safari.

Wake up early for your final game drive in Murchison Falls National Park. This gives you another opportunity to search for wildlife before leaving the park. Your guide will select the route based on your interests, recent sightings and the time available. After the game drive, return to the lodge for breakfast.
After breakfast, visit the top of Murchison Falls. Here you can watch the powerful Nile rushing through the narrow gorge before plunging downstream. The viewpoint provides excellent opportunities for photography and gives you a different perspective of the falls compared with the boat cruise.
After visiting the falls, begin your journey back towards Kampala or Entebbe. Lunch will be taken along the way. You will arrive in Kampala or Entebbe later in the day, depending on road and traffic conditions.
End of safari.
