Day 1: Arrival & The Spirit of Arusha
Upon landing at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO), your Tarec Gorilla Safaris guide will
welcome you. After checking in, enjoy a guided city tour of Arusha. Visit the
Cultural Heritage Centre and local vibrant markets where you can interact with Tanzanian artisans.
Accommodation: Arusha Coffee Lodge (set within Tanzania’s largest coffee plantation).
Day 2: Arusha National Park – Walking & Canoeing
Go beyond the vehicle. Start with a guided nature walk accompanied by an armed
ranger to see giraffes and buffaloes on foot. In the afternoon, enjoy a scenic canoe safari
on the Momella Lakes, drifting past pink flamingos and wallowing hippos.
Accommodation: Ngurdoto Mountain Lodge.
Day 3: Tarangire’s Elephant Empire
Enter the "Home of the Giants." Spend the day navigating the Tarangire River valley. You will
witness massive elephant families (sometimes 300+ strong) digging for water in
dry riverbeds, framed by the iconic, ancient Baobab trees.
Accommodation: Tarangire Simba Lodge.
Day 4: Lake Manyara – Tree‑Climbing Lions
Drive to Lake Manyara for a unique game drive. This park is famous for its
tree‑climbing lions and ground‑water forests. We’ll visit the
Majimoto Hot Springs and the "Hippo Pool" for spectacular bird‑watching.
Accommodation: Lake Manyara Serena Safari Lodge.
Day 5: The Gate to Serengeti & Olduvai Gorge
As we head to the Serengeti, we stop at Olduvai Gorge, the archaeological
site known as the "Cradle of Mankind." Learn about the 2‑million‑year‑old fossils discovered here
before an evening game drive into the Serengeti’s central plains.
Accommodation: Serengeti Kati Kati Tented Camp (authentic bush experience).
Day 6: Full Day Serengeti – The Great Migration
This day is dedicated to the Great Migration. Depending on the season, we
track the millions of wildebeests and zebras. We’ll explore the "kopjes" (rocky outcrops) where
lions and cheetahs often wait in ambush for passing herds.
Accommodation: Serengeti Kati Kati Tented Camp.
Day 7: Serengeti Balloons & Evening Bonfire
Optional Sunrise Hot Air Balloon Safari (pre‑booking required). Spend the
rest of the day in the Seronera Valley, famous for its high density of leopards. End the day
with a traditional sundowner and a bonfire under the vast African stars.

Day 8: Into the Ngorongoro Crater
Descend 600 meters into the world’s largest intact volcanic caldera. This is a high‑intensity
game drive where you can see the Big Five in a single morning. Lunch is a picnic
on the crater floor next to the hippo‑filled Ngoitokitok Springs.
Accommodation: Ngorongoro Serena Safari Lodge (perched on the crater rim).
Day 9: Lake Eyasi Cultural Immersion
A shift from wildlife to culture. Meet the Hadzabe tribe, one of the last true
hunter‑gatherer groups in Africa. You can join them on a morning hunt and learn about their
click‑language and ancient medicinal plants.
Accommodation: Lake Eyasi Safari Lodge.
Day 10: Maasai Boma Visit & Departure
Before leaving, visit a Maasai Boma. Engage with the Maasai people, watch their traditional jumping dance, and learn about their nomadic pastoralist lifestyle. We then drive back to Arusha for your departure.
