Day 1: Entebbe/Kampala to Kibale Forest National Park

Your journey begins with a warm welcome from your Tarec Gorilla Safaris guide. We depart toward the "Primate Capital of the World," driving through the rolling tea plantations of Fort Portal. Enjoy a scenic lunch overlooking the Rwenzori Mountains (Mountains of the Moon) before arriving at the edge of the Kibale jungle. Accommodation: Turaco Treetops / Primate Lodge / Chimpundu Lodge.

Day 2: Chimpanzee Trekking & Bigodi Swamp Walk

After an early briefing at the Kanyanchu visitor center, enter the forest to track wild chimpanzees. Kibale boasts the highest density of primates in Africa; keep your eyes peeled for Red-tailed monkeys and Grey-cheeked mangabeys. In the afternoon, explore the Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary, a community-run birding paradise where you might spot the Great Blue Turaco. Accommodation: Turaco Treetops / Primate Lodge / Chimpundu Lodge.

Day 3: Transfer to Bwindi via Ishasha (Tree-Climbing Lions)

We head south toward Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. The drive takes us through the Ishasha Sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park, famous for its unique tree-climbing lions. We’ll scan the massive fig trees for a glimpse of these majestic predators before ascending into the Kigezi highlands, often called the "Switzerland of Africa." Accommodation: Mahogany Springs / Buhoma Haven Lodge / Four Gorillas Lodge.
