Day 2: Queen Elizabeth National Park Game Drives
Morning game drive · Kasenyi Plains · Afternoon game drive · Optional Kazinga Channel cruise

Day two is the main wildlife day of your Queen Elizabeth National Park Game Drive Safari. You will wake early and have breakfast before heading into the park for a morning game drive. Early morning is one of the best periods to search for wildlife because animals are often active before temperatures rise. Your guide will explore suitable wildlife areas while looking for elephants, buffaloes, Uganda kobs, warthogs, antelopes and other species. Lions may also be encountered, particularly around areas where large concentrations of prey are found.

The Kasenyi Plains are among the popular areas for wildlife viewing in Queen Elizabeth National Park. Here, the open savannah provides good visibility, making it easier to search for large mammals. Your driver-guide will decide the best route based on wildlife movements, park conditions and your interests.

After the morning game drive, return to your lodge for lunch and some time to relax. Later in the afternoon, head back into the park for another game drive. The changing afternoon light creates excellent opportunities for wildlife photography. You may encounter elephants moving through the grasslands, buffalo herds, antelope species and Uganda kobs. If you're lucky, you may also find lions resting near prey-rich areas.

The Kazinga Channel boat cruise can be added to your safari as an optional activity. The channel is famous for its concentration of hippos, crocodiles and water-associated wildlife, while the surrounding vegetation attracts numerous bird species.
