From Entebbe to Kibale, Queen Elizabeth and Bwindi — and back to Entebbe. Follow the day-by-day timeline below.
Your 7-Day Uganda Primate and Wildlife Safari begins with an early departure from Entebbe. Meet your professional safari guide and begin the journey west toward Kibale Forest National Park. The drive takes you through Uganda's countryside, with opportunities to see local villages, farms, rolling hills and roadside markets.
Continue toward Kibale Forest and arrive at your lodge in the afternoon. Spend the rest of the day relaxing and preparing for tomorrow's chimpanzee tracking experience.

After breakfast, head to the Kibale Forest visitor center for a briefing before entering the forest for chimpanzee tracking. Kibale is one of Uganda's most important primate destinations, and the forest supports chimpanzees together with several other primate species. During the walk, look out for red-tailed monkeys, black-and-white colobus monkeys, blue monkeys and other forest wildlife.
After the chimpanzee experience, return for lunch. In the afternoon, you can visit the Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary, where local guides lead nature walks through wetlands, forest and community areas. The experience is particularly rewarding for birdwatchers and travelers interested in local culture.

After breakfast, leave Kibale and travel toward Queen Elizabeth National Park. The journey passes through Uganda's beautiful crater-lake region before reaching the national park.
After lunch, enjoy an afternoon game drive depending on your arrival time. Queen Elizabeth is home to elephants, buffaloes, Uganda kob, antelopes and numerous bird species. With luck, you may also encounter lions or leopards. Return to the lodge in the evening.

Wake up early for a game drive through Queen Elizabeth National Park. The morning is an excellent time to search for wildlife on the Kasenyi Plains, where Uganda kob, buffaloes, elephants and other animals can frequently be encountered. Return to the lodge for breakfast or lunch depending on the day's schedule.
In the afternoon, take a boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel. The channel connects Lake George and Lake Edward and is famous for its concentrations of hippos, crocodiles, elephants and water birds. Return to the lodge after the cruise.

After breakfast, begin your journey toward Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. Depending on the selected route and time available, the drive can pass through the Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park. Ishasha is famous for its tree-climbing lions, although sightings are never guaranteed.
Continue toward Bwindi through the scenic hills of southwestern Uganda. Arrive at your lodge and relax in preparation for the following day's gorilla trek.

Today is the major highlight of your 7-Day Uganda Primate and Wildlife Safari. After an early breakfast, travel to the appropriate Bwindi park headquarters for registration and briefing. You will then enter the rainforest accompanied by Uganda Wildlife Authority guides and trackers.
The trek involves walking through dense vegetation and sometimes steep terrain in search of a habituated mountain gorilla family. Once the gorillas are located, you will have the permitted time to observe their behavior and take photographs while following the park's viewing guidelines. After the trek, return to the lodge for a well-earned rest.

After breakfast, begin your journey back to Entebbe. Enjoy the changing scenery as you travel through southwestern and central Uganda. Lunch will be taken along the way.
Depending on your departure flight, you can either be dropped at your Entebbe accommodation or transferred directly to Entebbe International Airport. This marks the end of your 7-Day Uganda Primate and Wildlife Safari.

Pricing for this 7-Day Uganda Primate and Wildlife Safari depends on the number of travelers, gorilla and chimpanzee permit availability, travel dates and preferred accommodation level. Your personalized quotation will clearly show the permits, lodges, transport and activities included in your safari.
| Number of Travelers | Suggested Price Per Person |
|---|---|
| 1 Traveler | US$3,600 |
| 2 Travelers | US$2,650 |
| 3 Travelers | US$2,500 |
| 4 Travelers | US$2,300 |
| 5 Travelers | US$2,350 |
| 6 Travelers | US$2,100 |
Important: Rates are based on 2 travelers sharing a private 4×4 safari vehicle and accommodation. Final pricing should be confirmed based on the current gorilla and chimpanzee permit tariffs, park fees, lodge availability and your actual travel date. Luxury lodge upgrades are available on request.
A valid gorilla trekking permit and a chimpanzee tracking permit are required before undertaking the treks. UWA's published 2024–June 2026 tariff listed the foreign non-resident gorilla tracking permit at US$800, with the permit covering the guide fee, park entrance for the day and community development contribution.
Because that published tariff period ended in June 2026, the applicable permit rates for your actual travel date should be confirmed with Uganda Wildlife Authority before final payment. Permit availability is limited, so we recommend contacting Tarec Gorilla Safaris as early as possible with your preferred travel dates.
