Bwindi Impenetrable Forest
World’s most powerful waterfall
Ziwa Sanctuary on foot
Hippos, crocs & elephants
Lions, giraffes & leopards
Experience the raw power of nature and the gentle presence of giants with Tarec Gorilla Safaris. This 5‑day expedition is a high‑impact journey connecting Uganda’s largest savannah park, Murchison Falls, with the ancient, mist‑covered Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. Witness the world's most powerful waterfall and stand in the presence of the endangered Mountain Gorillas for a truly transformative African experience.
Your Tarec guide will pick you up early from Entebbe or Kampala to begin the journey north.
Our first stop is the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, the only place in Uganda where you
can track wild White Rhinos on foot. After an hour with these prehistoric‑looking giants, we
continue to Murchison Falls National Park. Before checking into your lodge, we
visit the Top of the Falls to see the mighty Nile explode through a tiny 7‑meter gap.
Accommodation: Budget: Hornbill Bush Lodge / Red Chilli Hideaway; Mid‑Range: Pakuba Safari Lodge / Murchison River Lodge; Luxury: Nile Safari Lodge / Paraa Safari Lodge.

Rise with the sun for a morning game drive on the northern bank. Murchison is
famous for its heavy concentration of Rothschild Giraffes, along with lions, elephants, and leopards.
In the afternoon, enjoy a boat cruise to the base of the falls. You will sail past
pods of hippos and massive Nile crocodiles, while the riverbanks teem with thirsty buffaloes and elephants.
Accommodation: Same as Day 1.

Today is a scenic travel day as we head southwest. We drive along Lake Albert and through the
winding escarpment of the Albertine Rift Valley. You’ll pass through local villages,
vibrant markets, and rolling tea plantations as the landscape shifts from golden savannah to the
lush, emerald highlands of the Gorilla territory.
Accommodation: Budget: Broadbill Forest Camp / Rushaga Haven; Mid‑Range: Ichumbi Gorilla Lodge / Bakiga Lodge; Luxury: Sanctuary Gorilla Forest Camp / Buhoma Lodge.

The day you have been waiting for. After an early briefing at the park headquarters, enter the
Bwindi Impenetrable Forest with your rangers. The trek is a beautiful but challenging
hike through thick vegetation. Once the Mountain Gorillas are located, you will
spend one silent, magical hour observing them. After the trek, enjoy a relaxing evening at the lodge
or an optional walk to meet the local Batwa community.
Accommodation: Same as Day 3.

After breakfast, we begin the final leg of our safari. We travel back through the terraced hills of Kigezi, stopping for lunch in Mbarara and a final commemorative photo at the Uganda Equator. Your guide will drop you at the airport for your evening flight or at your hotel in Kampala.
